With Jay Leno set to depart from NBC after the 2014 Winter Olympics, many are urging the television host to join Fox Broadcast.
The host of Fox News’ On the Record, Greta Van Susteren, posted on her blog urging Fox to hire Leno the day after his departure from The Tonight Show. The reporter wrote, “FOXBROADCAST (not Fox News Channel) should hire Jay Leno on February 7, 2014 (of course no one is asking me),” adding, “I think Fox Broadcast should sign him up and compete against his old network.”
Van Susteren isn’t the only one urging Fox to pick up Leno, comedian Adam Sandler has joined the movement as well. Sandler was a guest on The Tonight Show in May where he talked about Leno’s options and gave him some advice on what he should do post-Tonight Show.
Sandler told Leno, “You’re thinking about relaxing and I have a good idea for what Jay should do. Don’t you think he should just take it easy, enjoy, breathe, maybe go to Fox, do a show at 11:00 PM, maybe that kind of thing?”
Leno replied, “Thanks for stirring the pot. I appreciate that.”
Jimmy Fallon will be taking over The Tonight Show after Leno’s last show on February 6, 2014.
