Stephen Colbert has done a great job of hyping fans up for his hosting duties. When he was announced as the new host to replace David Letterman for The Late Show, fans saw it as an inspired choice. Colbert’s fan following combined with the long history of the show, CBS is looking to be the top late night talk show in the United States.
With CBS announcement of The Late Show’s premiere week guests, its surely to be a start of something special for the network.
Colbert is hitting the ground running on Tuesday, September 8th, with his first guests George Clooney and Republican candidate Jeb Bush. The show’s musical guest will be The Late Show’s bandleader Jon Batiste and Stay Human with special guests.
On September 9th, Colbert will talk to Scarlett Johansson and Tesla CEO Elon Musk with a special performance and interview with hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick was Colbert’s musical guest for his last episode of The Colbert Report, and its only fitting for the rapper to be present for Colbert’s transition into his Late Show duties.
The always controversial country artist Toby Keith will be the musical guest for Thursdays, September 10th episode. Colbert will also get to talk to Uber CEO Travis Kalanick.
On Friday, Colbert will get to shoot off jokes with Amy Schumer. Author Stephen King will also get to talk to Stephen Colbert with musical guest Troubled Water capping off premiere week.
