ABC has picked up Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a television show that will be a follow-up to the film Marvel’s The Avengers.
Clark Gregg will star in the show, reprising his role from Marvel’s The Avengers as Agent Phil Coulson. In the show, Agent Coulson will bring a group of agents together to be a part of the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. to investigate strange and unresolved cases. The team of agents will be played by Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Bennet.
Joss Whedon, co-writer and director of Marvel’s The Avengers, directed and co-wrote the pilot episode along with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who he previously collaborated with on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and Dollhouse.
The show will air this fall on ABC on Tuesdays at 7p.m. CST.
