Jersey Shore Ends After Six Seasons

MTV has announced that the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be the show’s last.  The final season of the show just ended production and will debut on Thursday, October 4th on MTV.

The networks plans to air a special titled “Gym, Tan, Look Back” before the MTV awards on September 6th.  According to a statement released by MTV, “The special [will] feature cast interviews in which they reminisce about quintessential water-cooler moments from the show, share their personal feelings on the last six seasons, and give their perspective on the series that turned them into household names.”

Due to the show’s unique characters and controversial content, Jersey Shore has become MTV’s most viewed telecast ever.  An official remake of the show Geordie Shore is currently being produced in the United Kingdom.  There is also talks of a Spanish remake titled Gandia Shore.

Don’t worry though, you can always watch the Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWoww tonight on MTV.

FYI to all of you Snooki & JWoww fans.  Due to the airing of “Gym, Tan, Look Back” on Thursday, September 6th,  the Snooki & JWoww finale will air on September 13th instead of September 6th at its normal time.
