Is ‘Storage Wars’ Rigged?

A new lawsuit filed by former ‘Storage Wars’ star David Hester claims he was fired after confronting the show’s producers and complaining that the show was possibly rigged.

According to the lawsuit acquired by TMZ, Hester claims producers added valuable items to storage units to increase the audience’s interest, including a BMW mini car under a pile of trash and a box full of newspapers reporting the death of Elvis Presley.

Dan Dotson, head of the auction company featured on the show, disagrees with Hester’s allegations.

“We only sell legitimate units on Storage Wars,” Dotson told TMZ.  “Every unit goes through a 64-day legal process and no one has access to units prior to auction.”

Tampered storage units are not the only accusations Hester is making about the show.  The former ‘Storage Wars’ star also claims that his less attractive co-stars were given additional cash for plastic surgery to “create more sex appeal.”

An A&E rep responded to the claims telling TMZ, “We do not know about a lawsuit being filed and we do not comment on pending or threatened litigation.”
