According to WWE.com, former WWE champion Roman Reigns has been suspended for violating the organizations wellness policy.
Reigns released a statement on Twitter:
I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it.

Cageside Seats reported that the superstar failed a wellness test before last Sundays pay-per-view event, Money in the Bank. This has led to his 30 day suspension effective today. While the timing is odd, it does change the WWE’s plan for its upcoming pay-per-view event and brand extension.
Roman was set to face in a triple threat match against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at Battleground on July 24, that probably won’t be the case. The suspension is set to be lifted on July 21, three days before the event, but WWE could change the story line while the suspension is instated.
The exact cause of the suspension hasn’t been released, but one thing is certain; Roman Reigns will not come back clean after this. The proclaimed “guy” of the WWE has been received negatively by fans. While he is on of the most talented wrestlers on the roster, the wrestling organization has been accused of shoving Reigns down peoples throats. Proclaiming him the face of the company while fans were clearly declaring, now retired wrestler, Daniel Bryan the man in WWE.
WWE has cracked down on violations towards the wellness policy, including substance abuse, physicals, and cardiovascular health. The tight grip on the policy is due to history of substance abuse with former wrestlers who have tragically passed away.
