Philadephia 76ers basketball player Royce White is currently under investigation in the Houston-area for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Tania Mehra, TMZ reports.
In a police report filed on August 30, Mehra claims White assaulted her in June at his Houston-area home. 911 records show that on June 22, 2013 an individual placed a call with law enforcement to report a laceration on Mehra’s face.

In addition to allegedly causing a cut on Mehra’s face, the police report claims White threw a candleholder at the Maxim model during the altercation. Although she was not hit, the candleholder did break a mirror, sources close to the investigation tell TMZ.
“The victim stated that White had assaulted her after she became angered by his advances toward her friend,” police officials told TMZ.

Mehra first reported the laceration was due to an “accidental fall” at the time of the assault because she “did not want the incident to damage his career,” police officials added.
At the time of the altercation, White was still a member of the Houston Rockets organization, but the team was looking to trade him to open up cap space.
After their first round pick was unable to travel with the team due to an anxiety of flying, the Rockets decided to move the 22-year-old to their D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, last February. White traveled by a bus provided by the organization, not with his teammates, to games across the area due to a generalized anxiety order that causes “panic attacks, a fear of heights and traveling — especially by plane — and obsessive-compulsive disorder.” A month later, White announced via Twitter that he would no longer play for the Vipers due to medical advice. He would later return for the final six games of the Vipers’ season, but skipped the playoffs due to a “hectic” traveling schedule. On July 5, the Philadelphia 76ers acquired the rights to Royce White to open up cap space for Houston to sign Dwight Howard.
White’s battle with OCD and anxiety order was chronicled during an episode of HBO’s “Real Sports” in January 2013.
At the moment, no charges have been filed against the NBA player.
