Throwback Thursday: The Beatles Began Recording “Come Together”

1947

Folk singer Cat Stevens was born on this day. He started his musical career in the 60s, where he wrote the song “The First Cut is the Deepest” in the ’60s. Since then it has become a hit for four different artists. In 1977, Stevens converted to the Islamic religion, changing his name to Yusef Islam.
