Microsoft is now giving away 100 albums free of charge through its Music Deals app!
Launching back in October, the service has provided music lovers with popular albums at low costs. Taylor Swift’s latest 1989 debuted for just $0.99 in a brief promotional period. Now, the company is including more hits like Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP2, Rihanna’s Unapologetic, Kanye West’s Graduation, and even U2’s infamous All That You Can’t Leave Behind – but this time, only if you choose to download it.
Whether you are a fan of rap, alternative rock, or pop, there’s something for everyone in the 100 albums! Below are some more popular albums that have made the free list:
- Babel by Mumford and Sons
- Watch the Throne by Kanye West and Jay-Z
- Exodus and Catch a Fire by Bob Marley
- Believe Acoustic by Justin Bieber
- 2Pac’s Greatest Hits
- Quadrophenia by The Who
- Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science
- Born to Die – The Paradise Edition by Lana Del Rey
- Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
- The Fame and The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga
- The Bones of What You Believe by Chvrches
- Clarity by Zedd
- To the Sea by Jack Johnson
- Ceremonials by Florence + The Machine
All 100 albums will be available for download until December 15th through the app, as well as through the Xbox Music app (U.S. only deal). If interested in taking a look at the full catalog, start by browsing the “Holiday Freebies” section within the Music Deals app.
The catch is – users will need Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8, as well as a Microsoft Account in order to participate in the promotion. However, once the albums are claimed and downloaded as MP3 tunes, users will be able to listen to them on virtually any audio device!
