McCartney and Starr to Celebrate Beatles Anniversary with TV Special

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are reuniting for an upcoming television special to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

The duo will perform their televised tribute show, The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles, on January 27 – the night after the Grammys and 50 years since their historic performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.  Starr said, “To celebrate the 50 years since we landed in New York in February [1964], they are putting on a big show on Monday and we will be doing it there.”

Rumors of a possible Beatles reunion began to swirl after the Grammys announced that both McCartney and Starr would be performing at Sunday’s event.

In addition to performing, both McCartney and Starr will be commemorated at this year’s Grammy Awards.  McCartney is nominated Best Rock Song for “Cut Me Some Slack” with Dave Grohl while Ringo Starr will be honored with the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.
