Lil Wayne To Release ‘Free Weezy Album’

Lil Wayne’s heated $51 million legal battle with Birdman over his recording contract and his imprint label, Young Money, hasn’t stopped the Cash Money artist from releasing new music.

After releasing Sorry 4 the Wait 2 just weeks earlier on January 20th Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter took to his twitter early this morning to announce that a new free project, dubbed The Free Weezy Album, is coming soon.

The status of Lil Wayne’s long delayed album The Carter V is unknown and his lawsuit against Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams is still underway. Not only is Wayne seeking $51 million in owed advances and damages but also to be declared the joint copyright holder of everything released by all Young Money Entertainment artists including Drake, Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian, and many other artists on the label.
