After being sentenced to eight-years in prison on drug charges, rapper Lil’ Boosie has been released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary system.
Lil’ Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, arrived at Angola penitentiary in 2009 after pleading guilty to his third offense of marijuana possession. While incarcerated the 31-year-old faced numerous accusations, including a highly publicized murder trial in 2009 for the murder of Terry Boyde. He was acquitted of first degree murder in May 2012.
Hatch was released from Angola penitentiary around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. He will remain on supervised parole until 2018.
