UPDATE: Gavin DeGraw Hospitalized After Attack

Gavin DeGraw has been hospitalized after being attacked by a group of men late Sunday night.

Police say a group of men attacked DeGraw on a city street in New York City at 4:30am late Sunday night.  He reportedly received a broken nose and cut to his face.  After the attack DeGraw was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in an ambulance where his status is currently being monitored.

This attack has occurred during his tour as a supporting act for Train and Maroon 5.  The show for Tuesday night in Sarasota Springs, NY has since been cancelled.  There are no reports on whether other dates will be affected.

DeGraw is best known for his 2003 hit “I Don’t Want to Be” that climbed to #3 on the U.S. Billboard Pop 100 charts.  He will be releasing his latest album Sweeter on Sept. 6th.

 

UPDATE:

Gavin DeGraw was reportedly leaving National Underground bar, an establishment he currently owns, when he was attacked by his assailants.

After the attack he apparently was hit by a taxi car while in a confused state.

DeGraw was treated at Bellevue hospital for a concussion, broken nose and facial lacerations and released on Tuesday, Aug.9th.

He tweeted about the attack saying “honestly, I don’t remember much. I only know I can recover from here.”

Gavin will continue touring with Maroon 5 and Train again on August 24th in Columbia,Maryland.
