Garth Brooks Earns Ninth No. 1 Album

Garth Brooks earned his ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 this week with his new boxed set Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences.  The eight-disc boxed set, which is available exclusively through Walmart, jumped from third to first place in its second week after selling 146,000 copies.

Blame It All on My Roots is Brooks’ second boxed set to reach No. 1, following the six-CD collection The Limited Series in 1998. The country singer’s other No. 1 record’s include 1991’s Ropin’ In The Wind, 1992’s The Chase, 1993’s In Pieces, 1994’s The Hits, 1997’s Sevens,1998’s Double Live and  2001’s Scarecrow.
Brooks’ Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences, released on Thanksgiving Day, is available in stores now. The boxed set contains eight discs — six audio and two DVDs.
