Avenged Sevenfold Heading for Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200

Avenged Sevenfold are on track for their second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.  The band’s first album to top the chart was 2010 Nightmare.

“Hail to the King,” Avenged Sevenfold’s sixth studio album, is expected to take the No. 1 spot next week, selling an estimated 175,000 copies through the week, as suggested by industry sources.  This would mark a record high for the band.

So far, their biggest sales week was their last album released in 2010, Nightmare, which opened at No. 1 and sold 163,000 copies.  If Hail to the King sells more than 170,000 copies, it will be the largest sales debut for a rock album since last September, when Babel by Mumford & Sons topped the chart with 600,000 copies sold, according to Billboard.

The official chart for the Billboard 200 will be revealed the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 4.
