15,000 Aerosmith fans had a big disappointment in store for them on Sunday when the American based rock band announced the cancellation of a show in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is thought that the cancellation stemmed from a bomb threat against the Myanmar Embassy, but there is no confirmed correlation between the two events.
On Friday, Indonesian authorities arrested two men with bombs that planned on using them at the Myanmar Embassy. The two suspects were protesting the way Myanmar treats Muslims.
The concert promoter, Ismaya Live, released a statement citing that the reason for the band’s cancellation was because of “safety concerns” and did not mention anything to do with the Myanmar bomb threats. Aerosmith publicly posted an apology to fans and wishes to one day make it up to them, although they have not released plans for rescheduling the performance.
The band is currently on the Global Warming World Tour and have already played numerous concerts across North America, Australia, and Asia.
