Rapper A$AP Rocky is currently being sued by a fan who claims she was injured at a concert back in 2012.
Tia Butts, 21, filed the claim, stating her head, neck, and back were injured after one of the performers on stage jumped off and landed on her during A$AP Rocky’s show at Chicago’s House of Blues. In her court papers, she said she is unsure who exactly landed on her.
In addition to A$AP Rocky, she is suing Been Trill, who was also performing at the concert, as well as the House of Blues, Live Nation Worldwide, Ticketmaster Entertainment, and others, asserting that they “neglected to maintain a safe environment for the patrons”. The suit is seeking over $50,000.
“Who is to say a hip-hop concert has to be more aggressive than, say, a performance at the Civic Opera House?” Butts’ lawyer, Jonathan Schlack, told the Chicago Sun-Times.
No comments have been made by the various parties in response to the suit yet. A$AP Rocky is currently working on an instrumental album entitled Beauty and the Beast—Slowed Down Sessions Ch 1 which is due to be released sometime this year.
