Watch: New International Trailer For Disney’s ‘Moana’

A new international trailer for Walt Disney’s Moana has been released!

Unlike the former US trailer, the single-scene clip depicts a baby Moana playing on the beach, where she meets water for the first time. Their magical connection is evident, as the ocean opens up and creates a pathway for the little princess.

“There is one other very important character we want to mention in this movie, the Pacific Ocean,” said one of the film’s director, Ron Clements (the other being John Musker).

Clements explained that upon visiting the South Pacific for research, they noticed that the natives spoke of the ocean like “a person or a friend,” and so they wanted to illustrate that within the film.

The upcoming animated film follows Moana (newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) as she sets sail from her ancient South Pacific home of Oceanie to find a mythical island. Joining her on the adventure is her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, voiced by Dwayne Johnson.

Moana is set to premiere the day before Thanksgiving, on November 23rd, 2016.
