The official trailer for the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L James’ erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, was revealed on the Today Show.
While the trailer made its debut on the morning show, segments were left out of the broadcast for “being too hot for early morning viewers.” However, the full trailer was released online.
Set to Beyoncé’s re-recorded “Crazy in Love”, the trailer begins with the first encounter between Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). The trailer continues to track the couple’s love affair and by the end of the clip, Anastasia is bound to a bed giving viewers a glimpse of the infamous “Red Room.”
Along with Johnson and Doran, the cast includes Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle. The film was written by Kelly Marcel and directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Fifty Shades of Grey opens in theaters on February 13, 2015.
