‘Terminator: Genisys’ Trailer Has Arrived

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Production released the full trailer for their summer blockbuster Terminator: Genisys.

The sci-fi action film is the fifth in the franchise, and brings back Arnold Schwarzenegger, who leads a cast that includes Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Courtney B. Vance, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt and Douglas Smith.

The trailer, which debuted on Monday, contains a gigantic plot twist on one of the franchise’s most important characters. In it, we learn that the story revolves on Connor’s son, John, who has become a cyborg in some sense, proclaiming: “I’m not machine. I’m not man. I’m… more.”

Below is the official synopsis for the new Terminator:

When John Connor (J. Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (E. Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

Alan Taylor’s Terminator: Genisys arrives later this year on July 1st. Check out the trailer below and see the twist for yourself!
