It looks like there is a Snow White and the Huntsman prequel in the works! The movie opened at the box office on June 1 grossing $56.2 million dollars in it’s opening weekend.
Veteran screenwriter David Koepp will write the sequel and Rupert Sanders is in negotiations to return to the director’s chair, according to Deadline.com.
Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth have options for two sequels. There is no word on whether Charlize Theron would return for the follow-up movie.
After starring in such blockbusters as “The Avengers,” “Thor” and “Star Trek,” Hemsworth spoke to the Daily News last April about how he was taken back by the magnitude of “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
“We had this scene we charged in like 100 horses into the castle and we all jumped off the horses and it broke into this big fight scene,” said Hemsworth. “Each time, the stuntwoman who was working for Kristen fell over and cut her hand and then the guy in front of me fell over and then I fell off the horse and it trampled on my leg.”
“And it was like each time they wanted to do another take. I was like, ‘C’mon guys, you got it somewhere in there surely, cause someone is going to die,” Hemsworth said laughing.
