During an appearance on Conan Wednesday night, Martin Lawrence revealed that there will be a Bad Boys 3.
“I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday,” Lawrence replied when Conan O’Brien asked if the film was still happening. “He said it’s real. They’re working on the script. They’re getting close. It all looks good.”
Lawrence and Will Smith starred in 1995’s Bad Boys and 2003’s Bad Boys II as police detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. Both films were directed by Michael Bay.
A third film in the Bad Boys franchise has frequently been discussed. Back in 2010, Lawrence told MTV that he had spoken to Bay about the film. “It’s real realistic. We’ve talked about Bad Boys 3,” he stated. “I met with Michael Bay, and he said he’s on board too, so it’s real.”
In December 2013, Sony was in talks with David Guggenheim to pen the script. Last month Lawrence also teased the sequel on Twitter:

It is unknown if Will Smith will reprise his role in the third film, but Lawrence alluded that he will when Conan O’Brien asked for a cameo in the film. “I will mention it to Will Smith and Jerry Bruckheimer that Conan wants a cameo,” Lawrence said.
