For those of you that have been anxiously waiting for an Entourage movie, the wait may be finally over. The HBO series, which ended in 2011, got the green light for a film from Warner Bros. in January. Since then, executives have been negotiating contracts with the cast. Today, Jerry Ferrara, who played “Turtle” on the series, appeared on The Wendy Williams Show and stated that the movie is “looking real good” and that a deal for it “could be closed today.” He also added that he hopes shooting will begin this January.
Reportedly, Ferrara and Adrian Grenier, who played Vincent Chase on the show, have been slowing down the negotiation process by demanding more money. Previously, it was rumored that Jeremy Piven was the reason for the salary disagreements.
“Here’s what I’ll say about holdouts: Athletes hold out when they have a contract they don’t want to honor,” Ferrara remarked today. “No one’s holding out. It just takes a little time. We’re actually on schedule.”
Warner Bros. stated the budget for the film will be under $30 million and insists shooting begins by January 2014 so it can receive a California tax credit.
