The PlayStation Network (PSN) will come to an end as we know it effective February 8, 2012. PSN will be rebooted as a new package to Sony Playstation users called the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN).
The new name will help Sony brand and market all of their services and materials into a single cohesive unit. The new network umbrella now houses two of Sony’s other major online services, Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited (formerly known as Qriocity and Video on Demand powered by Qriocity).
Sony officials have assured users that PSN accounts and services related to its operation will remain the same, the only change being the name.
Is this a response to the changes Microsoft made to its Xbox Live platform on December 6, 2011?
Further changes for the PlayStation brand remain to be seen.
