Many critics are claiming the book to be a disgrace upon her own name and fan base. “A Casual Vacancy” is a story about life in small town named Pagford. Critics are disgusted with Rowling’s uncensored use of rape, murder, drug use, suicide, violence, and abundant use of curse words.
Rowling will more than likely make millions on her new dark novel; using the element of shock to dig up a new adult audience. Will Rowling lose the praise of her younger generation of readers? Or is this just the step forward through the gate to uncap the real genius of J.K. Rowling’s literary future?
