The 2021 MTV European Music Awards took place Sunday night with big stars including Ed Sheeran and popular Korean boy band BTS taking home awards.
About the EMAs
The event premiered on MTV in 180 countries and went live from the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary. The show’s water theme was inspired by Budapest’s famous thermal spas and Danube (the river that runs through the city). In addition to the theme, the stages at the event appeared to be floating while stars dressed accordingly.
Honorable Winners
BTS had an iconic night at the event. They earned numerous awards including Best Pop, Best Group, Best K-Pop and Biggest Fans. Meanwhile, Sheeran won Best Artist and Best Song for “Bad Habits.”
