Facts About the Traumpalast Imax Screen

The world’s largest Imax screen is set to open at the Traumpalast Multiplex in Leonberg, Germany on Sept. 30 where it will showcase the latest James Bond film No Time to Die.

According to Deadline, the screen weighs over 500 pounds and spreads wider than a Boeing 737 airplane. It reached nearly 70 feet high and 125 feet across. Additionally, the theater holds 574 seats with Imax’s Laser and 1-2 sound channel technology.

Imax’s Statement

“The IMAX at Traumpalast redefines the ‘big screen’, With Lochmann Filmtheaterbetriebe, we’ve created an unforgettable moviegoing experience. Fans can truly immersive themselves in the world’s biggest blockbusters on the world’s largest screen,” said Rich Gelfond, CEO of Imax. “As we continue to grow in Germany and open new iconic locations around the world, the Imax at Traumpalast will become an exciting flagship location. In addition to the critical time for fans seeking premium, differentiated experiences.”

From its enormous screen and incredible audio to the luxurious seating and other exciting amenities the theatre has to offer. ‘No Time to Die’ Shot Specifically for Imax

Furthermore, Cary Fukunaga, director of No Time to Die used Imax’s 15/70 mm film cameras. Thus, formatted perfectly for Imax theaters. The film also features 26%  more picture for selected sequences with the Imax-exclusive 1.90:1 aspect ratio.
