The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is in full swing and if you haven’t been, there is still time to enjoy everything this spectacular event has to offer. Did you know that since 1932 the HLS&R has committed millions of dollars to the youth of Texas and education through scholarships, grants, junior show exhibitors and so many other worthy causes? This yearly event not only entertains everyone with all its fun activities, but benefits the City of Houston in the process.
So what is your favorite thing to see, do or eat at the Rodeo? Just to name of few of my favorite things, I’ll start with the World Championship BBQ cook-off contest. This event definitely kicks off my yearly Rodeo experience. Then there is the shopping in the NRG Center, all the events going on in the different arenas, livestock and horse shows, and the children’s petting zoo.
There is so much to do at the Rodeo it’s impossible to list everything here! Did I forget to mention the Wine Garden and the carnival? Definitely not to be missed too!! But the one thing I will never miss is the actual Rodeo Houston Championship events. Bull riding is my favorite and of course, the star-studded entertainment lineup to close out the day at the Rodeo.
I love everything about the HLS&R. Their special occasion days are so thoughtful, especially the one that honors our military. There is still time to visit this year’s rodeo, so hurry on out to the HLS& R as fast as you can! You don’t want to miss out on seeing Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan, and also all the finals from the bull riding, cattle roping, barrel racing events etc.
So get out and enjoy the 2023 rodeo! Be sure to tell everyone I sent you ok….yeehaw!
