Why ‘Sharknado 3’ Is Going to Be Bigger Than Ever

Syfy announced Monday that Sharknado 3 will be taking down not just one city, but a whole coast. The sequel, which is set to premiere next summer, will take place on the “Feast Coast,” from Washington D.C. down to Florida.

“The entire Eastern seaboard will be devoured by flying sharks,” Syfy’s website states. “No seaboard city below our nation’s capital is safe!”

Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One were set in Los Angeles and New York, respectively. It is currently unknown if any of the stars from the first two films will be reprising their roles for the sequel.

Sharknado 2 was a ratings success this past summer, bringing in 3.9 million viewers. It was the most watched original movie ever for Syfy.
