Watch the First Teaser for ‘Better Call Saul’

Fans of AMC’s mega-hit show Breaking Bad will be glad to know that the highly anticipated spin-off Better Call Saul has released its first teaser trailer.

The network planted the ten second long clip in the middle of its Breaking Bad binge marathon on Sunday. It features the show’s star Bob Odenkirk as his character Saul talking to a prospective client, saying, “Lawyers: We’re like health insurance. You hope you never need it, but man oh man, not having it? No!”

Better Call Saul is intended to be the prequel to Walter White’s saga, taking place in 2002, long before he and Jesse Pinkman join forces. Below is the show’s official synopsis, courtesy of AMC:

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White’s lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “criminal lawyer.”

Jonathan Banks, who played Mike Ehrmantraut on the original show will be joining Better Call Saul as a series regular. Bryan Cranston will be involved in the show whereas he will be directing one of the episodes from the ten-episode series.

Co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s Better Call Saul will begin season one February 2015. In the meantime, head over to Saul Goodman’s official website if you’re anxious for more.
