Remember last summer’s Lincoln MKC “Live in the Moment” ad campaign featuring actor Matthew McConaughey?
Well, the Academy Award-winner returns as spokesperson for Lincoln, with two brand new commercials that are set to air on New Year’s Day during the college football games. This time it’s with the MKZ hybrid.
In one of the new ads, McConaughey is seen driving through Griffith Park overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, saying: “It’s not about huggin’ trees. It’s not about bein’ wasteful, either. You just got to find that balance, for takin’ care of yourself takes care of more than … just yourself. That’s the sweet spot.” The other shows the actor exiting a restaurant as he cruises down the rain-slicked streets of L.A.
Back in October, actor Jim Carrey memorably parodied McConaughey’s commercials on Saturday Night Live.
“Sometimes, you got to go back to actually move forward, and I don’t mean go back and reminisce and chase ghosts,” Carrey joked. “I mean take a big step back like go from winning an Oscar to doing a car commercial.”
