Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has been featured in a new promo for the 44th season of Monday Night Football.
The 30-second ad is narrated by Watt and was filmed in Los Angeles this summer. The video references NFL Legend Ken Norton Jr., 13-time MLB All Star Ken Griffey, Jr. and singer Kenny Loggins.
In the promo, Watt is about to recover a fumble made by the New York Jets when he says to himself, “It’s Monday night. I’m about to get that ball, and the whole world is going to see it: Ken, the guy I used to deliver pizza to. Ken Norton Jr. Ken Griffey Jr. Definitely Kenny Loggins.” Kenny then sings a parody version of his song “Footloose” by changing the lyrics to, “Ball’s loose, ball’s loose. Lace up your Monday night shoes.”
Monday Night Football kicks off on ESPN on Sept. 9 which a double-header: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins (5:55 p.m. CST) and Houston Texans at San Diego Chargers (9:15 p.m.).
