VIDEO: ‘Downton Abbey’ Previews Season 5

PBS released a new trailer for the fifth season of Downton Abbey, which hints at the scandals that will affect the Crawley family.

In the teaser a fire rages through the Downton household. In addition, Lady Edith might no longer be keeping her child a secret, Thomas Barrow continues to hound Miss Baxter for information, a new character named Lady Anstruther makes advances on Jimmy, and Lady Mary appears to be growing closer to Lord Gillingham.

Season five will see the arrival of a few new stars to the series, including Richard E. Grant as Simon Bricker, a guest of the Crawley family, Rade Sherbedgia as a Russian refugee, and Anna Chancellor as Lady Anstruther.

The new season premieres January 5 on Masterpiece on PBS.
