Twitter Reaction: ‘Atlanta’ Is Taking Over TV

Donald Glover’s highly anticipated show, Atlanta, has aired its season premiere on FX Tuesday night.

Glover, the creator of the show, spoke to E News on his inspiration to make this show and his main goal was “I wanted to make Twin Peaks for rappers.”

The rapper/comedian/producer added “A lot of questions would come up with no real answers and there was a mystery, and I kind of wanted to do a show that had those elements but for people who were rappers.”

“The thesis with the show was kind of to show people how it felt to be black, and you can’t really write that down. You kind of have to feel it. So the tonal aspect was really important to me.”

It was clear where Glover wanted to go and the topics he wanted to discuss. The only question was if he was able to balance all of this in to one season.

Luckily for those anticipating the series premiere, Atlanta managed to discuss several important topics,  be funny, and maintain a unique atmosphere in its first two episodes!

Twitter has blown up with praise over the FX show, claiming it to be the best new series on TV so far! That praise has also struck critics, giving it a Certified Fresh score at Rotten Tomatoes (100% to be exact)!

Atlanta is on every Tuesday on FX at 9PM CST!
