TV Ratings: Jay Leno Is Going Out With A Bang

Hosting his last week after a 22-year run on “The Tonight Show”, Jay Leno hit his highest Monday rating since his 2010 return.

Jay Leno marked the best Monday rating for “The Tonight Show” since the late-night host returned to the show back in 2010, scoring a 3.9 rating. It was the highest Monday “Tonight” rating since March 1, 2010 (5.4) when Leno returned to the show after Conan O’Brien’s stint on “The Tonight Show” ended after only a year of hosting.

Leno matched Friday’s ratings on Monday night and were the show’s strongest since President Obama appeared as a guest back in October 2012, scoring a 4.0. Monday’s results left Leno’s 10:30 pm late-night talk show rivals David Letterman on CBS with a 2.3 and Jimmy Kimmel on ABC with a 2.2 in 56 metered markets.

Monday night’s guests included 92 year-old Betty White and successor Jimmy Fallon. Fallon will take over “The Tonight Show” on February 17th after Jay Leno wraps up his two decade run on February 6th.
