Toy Story Halloween Special Coming to TV in October

The beloved Toy Story gang will be making a comeback this October.  ABC announced that it will be launching an all-new Toy Story special called Toy Story of Terror.  Set to air in late October around Halloween, the 30 minute special will have a terror feel, but with the right balance of terror for both children and adults.

The story will start off with Bonnie and her mother on a road trip going to see her grandmother. Due to a flat tire, the two are forced to stay at a roadside motel where one of the toys goes missing.  The other toys will become caught up in Psycho, Aliens and Predator inspired events while trying to find their lost friend. All terror aside, there will also be a lighthearted side to the 30 minute special. The audience will get a feel of what life is like with Bonnie, who became the new owner of the toys during the third film.

The voice of the beloved original characters such as Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Rex (Wallace Shawn) and Jessie (Joan Cusack) will be done by the original Toy Story cast. The original gang won’t be the only toys going on adventures.  Bonnie’s toys, who were introduced in the third Toy Story movie, such as Mr. Pricklepants and Trixie will also be tagging along. Also, the audience will have the chance to meet Combat Carl, the army man blown up by Sid in the first film.

While Pixar is working on prequels as well as sequels for other beloved films, Toy Story 4 is not one of them.
