‘The Shield’ Actor Michael Jace Arrested for Homicide: ‘I Shot My Wife’
Michael Jace, known for his role as police officer Julian Lower on FX’s The Shield, has been arrested on homicide charges following the shooting and death of his wife.
According to TMZ, Jace had called 911 and told the operator, “I shot my wife.” The actor remained on the phone until police arrived at the couple’s home around 8:30 p.m in Hyde Park where the body of April Jace was discovered with several shots in her torso.
The 51-year-old was then detained, questioned by the LAPD and booked on suspicion of homicide. What led up to the shooting remains unknown.
In Jace’s 22 year-acting career, The Shield was his longest running role where he appeared in 89 episodes as police officer Julian Lowe. Jace is also credited with roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Private Practice, Michael Jordan: An American Hero, Burn Notice and State of Play.
