‘The Jinx’ Ratings Soar After Robert Durst Arrest

A day after after the arrest of accused murderer Robert Durst, HBO’s documentary series about the son of New York real estate mogul Seymour Durst, The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, saw a spike in its ratings.

HBO aired the finale to the six-part documentary series Sunday night to about 802,000 viewers during its initial airing, an increase over last week’s 446,000 viewers. It marked a series-high for the show. A later airing of the episode was watched by 250,000 more people, bringing the viewership of the finale to one million for the night.

On Saturday, Durst was arrested in New Orleans for his connection in the death of his friend Susan Berman back in 2000. In Sunday’s episode, Durst appeared to make a confession as a live mic caught him off-camera saying, “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.”

The final episode was also a hit on Twitter. Over 35,000 tweets were sent out about the show, which were seen 11.1 million times and reached 2.8 million people.
