“The Brady Bunch” Is BACK!

This could be the BEST news I’ve heard in a LONG TIME. For those that know me, The Brady Bunch has ALWAYS been tops on my list of favorite TV shows.

Apparently Vince Vaughn likes the show as well. It was announced yesterday that Vaughn is in talks for a reboot of the famed TV series that ruled the airwaves on ABC from 1969-1974.

The original starred Robert Reed and Florence Henderson. The story was about Mike Brady (Reed), a widowed architect with three sons, Greg, Peter and Bobby, who marries Carol Ann Martin (Henderson), a single mother with three daughters, Marcia, Jan and Cindy.

In the new version, written by Mike Mariano (Raising Hope, My Name Is Earl), Bobby Brady is now divorced, with children of his own, and remarried to a woman who also has kids. Together, they also share a child.

Vaughn not only partnered with Mariano on the project, but his team also includes Lloyd Schwartz, son of the late Sherwood Schwartz, who created the original series.

Also working on the show are Victoria Vaughn and Peter Billingsley through Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show Prods.

CBS TV Studios will produce, as it has the rights to the show under it’s Paramount company. An initial script order has been made with no firm date for it’s debut.

Susan Olsen, who played Cindy in the original series, tweeted her reaction saying, “BB redux? Who knows? When I heard about the first movie I thought it was a crazy idea – but it turned out great!”

I can’t wait.
