‘The Big Bang Theory’ Gets 3-Year Renewal

CBS and Warner Bros. TV have reached a deal for a three-year renewal of the popular sitcom “The Big Bang Theory”.

“The Big Bang Theory,” which is currently in its seventh season, will be on air until at least its 10th season in the 2016-17 year. The sitcom, which premiered in 2007, is earning its highest ratings to date with an average 19.79 million viewers per episode and a 6.1 rating/19 share in adults 18-49.

“This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week,” said CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler.

Warner Bros. TV is currently in the middle of contract renewal negotiations with Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and others cast members of “The Big Bang Theory”.
