Tamar Braxton Taken to Hospital Before DWTS Performance

Fan favorite, Tamar Braxton, was taken to the hospital today before her Dancing With the Stars performance.

DWTS host Tom Bergeron told the audience of the news stating “This is very much a live show. We don’t have all the information right now. She might return in time to dance live here, we’ll keep you posted as we find out more.” Unfortunately for Tamar’s fans, she did not make it in time for her performance.

Judges had to score the DWTS hopeful solely on her taped dress rehearsal routine which got a score of 22/30. Tamar’s partner Val Chermokovskiy defended her by saying “You just saw a person that shouldn’t have been here, and was here because she felt bad for her partner, teacher, you know, that’s why I feel really bad, because it shouldn’t be like that. It should be a fun journey. I’m not here to make her life hard. We want to celebrate her effort.”

TMZ reported that she was battling pneumonia for the last few weeks. Because of Tamar Braxton’s absence from the live show, there might be a chance that she is disqualified from the competition. If this happens, she will be the second competitor to be forced to drop out.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann was removed from the competition earlier this season for being unable to make the live show. Kim suffered from a mini-stroke and was not cleared to fly back in time for her performance.

Tamar Braxton is the sister of singer Toni Braxton and is currently a co-host on The Real. She is a top performer on DWTS, and posted one of the best scores last week with a 28/30.
