Sofia Vergara Remains Highest-Paid TV Actress

For the third year in a row, Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara tops the list of highest-paid actresses on television. The Columbian actress made about $37 million in the past year, according to Forbes. That amount is $7 million more than what she earned the previous year.

Vergara also made more than the highest-paid actor on television, Ashton Kutcher, who earned $26 million.

The actress makes about $325,000 per episode on Modern Family, but also earns a significant amount of income from her endorsements and licensing deals, which include Diet Pepsi, CoverGirl, Head & Shoulders, and AT&T.

Following Vergara on the list is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay, who made roughly$13 million in the past year. Hargitay earns a major amount from syndication of the crime drama, which is currently heading into its 16th season and is the longest-running drama series currently on TV.

Coming in at No. 3 is Kelly Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory with $11 million in earnings. Due to her new contract, she will reportedly earn $1 million per episode and will surely be on Forbes’ list next year.

The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulders all tied for fourth place, with $10 million each.
