Simon Cowell Returning to ‘America’s Got Talent’ Next Season

Simon Cowell is set to return for season 12 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

The judge made his debut on the reality competition series this summer, joining Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel on the panel. Cowell created the franchise in the U.K. and is also an executive producer of the show.

The rest of the judges will also be returning next season, and Nick Cannon will continue to host the show. It will be the fifth season for Mel B and Klum, the eighth for Mandel, and the ninth for Cannon.

“With the addition of Simon, the chemistry between our judges has grown even stronger and it’s easy to see how much enthusiasm they bring to the show night after night,” Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group at NBC Entertainment, stated. “Nick adds a boundless energy as host that ties everything together. We’re thrilled to have such a strong team returning for season 12.”

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on NBC at 7pm CST.
