Simon Cowell Hints at ‘American Idol’ Reunion

Last night Simon Cowell indicated on Twitter that he hopes for a possible “American Idol” reunion with the show’s original judges and host Ryan Seacrest. He tweeted:

Paul Abdul, Randy Jackson, and Simon Cowell were the original trio at the judges table at the show’s inception in June 2002. Abdul was the first to leave FOX’s reality series in 2009, followed by Cowell in 2010. Jackson retired from his role as a judge last year, but currently serves as a mentor for the contestants on the show.

Abdul and Cowell reunited to judge the first season of X Factor in 2011, but Abdul was let go the following season. Cowell currently serves as a judge for the U.K.’s X Factor, and Abdul recently began her first season as a judge for Australia’s So You Think You Can Dance.
