Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! premiered Wednesday night on the SyFy Network. With promises of cranking the ridiculousness levels to 11 and bringing guest cameos like Mark Cuban and Al Roker to the franchise, fans were more than ready to tune in.
After the deadly sharknado attacked New York City in Sharknado 2: The Second One, the shark infested weather system is back to tear a new hole in the whole east coast! Sharknado 3 stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, Bo Derek, Frankie Muniz and a plethora of guest stars that shape this camp classic.
While most films studios and networks wait for the ratings to come in to choose the fate of their respective franchise, SyFy just announced that there will be a Sharknado 4. It’s only fitting that the franchise goes on, after the film’s cliffhanger of an ending.
Spoiler Beware: During the finale, Tara Reid’s character, April Wexler, gives birth inside of a shark and saws herself out. A few moments later, April gets hit by a chunk of spaceship that fell from the sky…then a cut to black! We then hear a voice over saying “Her fate will be revealed in #Sharknado4…Because we’re not done yet.”
Syfy has asked fans to choose whether April survives on Twitter. People will get to vote using the hashtags #Aprillives or #Aprildies, fans can also vote by visiting Sharknado.syfy.com. While Sharknado 3: OHN! isn’t a piece of critically acclaimed TV history, the cliffhanger ranks up there with The Sopranos finale and the Who Shot JR episode of Dallas.
With memorable moments such as Mark Cuban shooting down flying sharks, David Hasselhoff going to space, and the use of a light saber saw, what else is next? Maybe a shark that hits 88 MPH to go back in time to destroy sharknados? Who knows, but I take full credit for this ridiculous idea.
