Selma Blair Leaves ‘Anger Management’ After Dispute with Charlie Sheen

After a week of rumors that there was unrest on the set of Anger Management, Selma Blair has left the show in what seems to be an “ousting” by Charlie Sheen.

Only a third of the way through a 90-episode order from FX, the departure comes as a surprise to fans, but not for those working on the set of the show.  Things quickly got very heated after Blair decided to go to network executives to complain about Sheen’s work ethic.  While Sheen does not have the exclusive right to fire anyone, he can “certainly can make production impossible,” according to an E! News source.  After learning Blair went to network executives, Sheen sent an ultimatum to the show’s head honchos saying either she has to go or he quits.

On Tuesday, Lionsgate released a statement saying, “We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to Anger Management and we wish her the very best.”  Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Anger Management does plan to add a new female lead to replace Blair and that her exit will not affect production of the show.

This is not the first time Charlie Sheen has had issues with co-workers on set.  Just two years ago he was fired by Two And A Half Men creator Chuck Lorre after verbally attacking the producer on multiple media outlets.
