Russell Brand, British comedian and ex-husband of American pop star Katy Perry, will premier his new late night show called Brand X. Brand will deliver a raunchy edgy show with ” nothing is off limits” vibe. Even though the show will contain some language bleeping Brand says anything is welcomed.
When it comes to his divorce, 37-year old Brand was asked if Katy was going to be mentioned in his show, since Katy will mention him in her movie Katy Perry:Part Of Me. Brand answered,” this show is about authenticity…We live in a time where we’re stupefied by plasticity [because] gossip based stories would have less values”. Brand stated he never wants to hurt a persons feelings, but then again don’t take any promises.
Brand X is taped in front of a live studio audience and will not feature any guest appearances. Instead, there will be a lot of audience interaction during the show. Brand’s political analyst Matt Stroller will be a side-kick on the show. The show will feature a lot of “comedy news,” as well as political, and Brand’s take is said to be very spontaneous and exciting.
Brand recently worked with Alec Baldwin and Julianne Hough on the movie Rock of Ages and mentioned he had a fantastic time. Russell will be working with Hough again in a new movie called Diablo Cody.
Brand X premieres on Thursday, June 28th 11PM on FX after Anger Management, Louie and Wilfred.
