President Obama was offered a cameo role on Netflix’s House of Cards by the on-demand giant’s CEO Reed Hastings during a tech summit at the White House this morning.
The offer was made after POTUS asked Hastings, “I’m just wondering if you brought advance copies of House of Cards?” Hastings laughed in response and offered President Obama a cameo role on the Golden Globe nominated political drama series starring Kevin Spacey.
During the summit the President joked, “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient,” and that Spacey’s character, Congressman Frank Underwood, was “getting a lot of stuff done” in Washington.
House of Cards is set in present day Washington D.C. and follows the life of House Majority Whip Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) . After being passed over for the appointment of Secretary of State, Congressman Underwood will do whatever it takes to exact revenge on those who betrayed him. He sets into motion a meticulous plan that takes him beneath the curtain and through the back halls of greed, sex, love and corruption in the heart of the world’s most powerful nation.
