Nat Geo to Air Specials on Boston Bombings, American Generals

The National Geographic Channel is getting ready for the release of two new documentary specials, one focused on the Boston Marathon Bombers and the other on 10 living U.S war generals.

The first to air will be Inside the Hunt for the Boston Bomber on April 13, the one year anniversary of the attack. The documentary will include interviews with the FBI, the Boston Police Department, survivors of the incident, as well as former Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino and Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick.

Executive vice president of programming Heather Moran expressed, “This event is still an open wound for those who lived through the nightmare, and even for those who shockingly watched it play out in the media,” continuing on. “This film is a conclusive account of the event as told by victims and the brave men and women who were on the ground passionately fighting to bring their city back from the brink. Inside the Hunt for the Boston Bombers is truly a heroes’ story.”

While the release date for American War Generals has yet to be announced, the premiere is being eyed for a summer release. Produced by Tresha Mabile, Peter Bergen and Jonathan Towers, the documentary will feature 10 interviews with United States generals who saw action in war and will cover more than 50 years of international conflict.
