If you haven’t heard or seen by now, Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance was a memorable one to say the least.
Miley performed her new single “We Cant Stop” and later was joined on stage by Robin Thicke to sing “Blurred Lines” along with him on Sunday night. Miley’s twerking and lap dancing on stage not only gave the social networking world a “what the?” moment, but had Rihanna, Drake and many other celebrities looking away during her performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
Miley’s risque and obscene performance caused a media frenzy, and even had her own management team freak out. She is definitely not “Hannah Montana” anymore, but probably Billy Ray Cyrus wishes for “Hannah” to come back.
Miley’s VMA performance has given her the title of “Queen of Obscene,” and many say she pushed the envelope further than Lady Gaga has with her edgy and risque performances in the past. Maybe it is due to the fact that there was no coordinated dancing in her risque performance and just her harassing the foam finger while she pranced around giving Robin Thicke a lap dance on stage at the same time.
“I don’t understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do. I think she’s misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial,” Thicke’s mother, Gloria Loring, told OMG! Insider. “I didn’t get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself.”
Many celebrities are going to Twitter to “thank Miley” for her performance last night so they can now explain to their younger children as to why they are not allowed to watch her anymore or follow her career.
What little piece of Disney image Miley had left in her is officially gone.
